Lefferts Manor Bed and Breakfast resides on
a quiet tree-lined, family neighborhood cherished for its
beautifully preserved, museum-quality brownstone, limestone
and many Italianate brickwork townhouses in Brooklyn, New
York.
Lefferts Manor accommodations are
tastefully furnished with a slight nod to the Victorian period
and tribute to a broader range of other styles and periods.
Rustic Moroccan lanterns and tile tables, a shaker style bed,
colonial chairs and end table all blend together with a
minimalist's love for open space and air. All the rooms in the
house share an element of serene naturalism and and quiet
warmth. Cozy, yet not cluttered. Cool to the eye, but rich
with woods and earthy textures, giving softness to the rooms.
All guestrooms feature original 1898
detailing evident in the original doors, baseboards and window
sashes, fireplaces (sealed) and mantles, quarter-sawn oak
parquet flooring, picture rails, original plaster work
including original gasliqht medallions. The guest rooms on
each floor of our townhouse share a bathroom. The Fitzgerald
and The McManus rooms are on the floor above The Parlor and
share one large bathroom. The Bradley, O'Neal and The Osborne
rooms are on the top floor and they share an even larger
bathroom with an antique claw-foot tub in addition to the
shower enclosure. Rooms are all equipped with end-tables and
reading lights, closets, air-conditioning and Wireless
Internet access.
A full, sit-down Brooklyn Breakfast is
served every morning offering fresh gourmet coffee, fine teas,
orange juice accompanied by a variety of cereals, yogurt,
dried fruit, granola, fresh baked biscuits and muffins,
sometimes hard-boiled eggs or omelettes or even the inn's
famous oatmeal or French Toast served with 100% pure maple
syrup.
"Let us pamper you in our Brooklyn
home while you visit Brooklyn and Manhattan and all of New
York City." |
This lovely little neighborhood of Brooklyn
was originally part of the estate of wealthy Brooklyn
agricultural baron and landowner James Lefferts. During the
Brooklyn housing boom of the 1890s, he developed the
area into a pastoral alternative to the hustle and bustle of
Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope.
Wonderful Brooklyn attractions are within a
walking distance to the bed and breakfast. The beautifully
restored Prospect Park Carousel and The Audobon Center and
Boat House are adjacent to the Prospect Park Lake which offers
paddle boating and a guided ecological electric Gondola tour.
During the Winter there is Ice Skating at Wollman Rink.
The Prospect Park Tennis Center offers 11
tennis courts and a beautiful 3.5 mile bridal path threads its
way through the naturalistic forests of the park with horse
rentals and lessons at Kensington Stables. Numerous nature
trails and excellent jogging and biking paths also wrap around
the loops and hills the park. |
