The Fox 'n' Hound Bed and Breakfast is a
historic Victorian mansion in the heart of Saratoga Springs
the famous horse racing and hot springs mecca in upstate New
York.
Built in 1904 by renowned architect Newton
Breeze, the mansion is graced by an array of triple rounded
windows with elaborately carved tops between the gables and a
porch that embraces the entire front of the house. Here you
will find comfortable elegance with a cosmopolitan flair,
European hospitality with the warmth of home, the attention to
detail found in the finest hotels and resorts, and the
convenience of an in-town location.
After you enter the foyer paneled with
bird's-eye maple and a large stained glass window, a spiral
staircase leads you to five spacious rooms individually
decorated with antiques and period furnishings. Each room
offers a queen- or king-sized bed with fine linens, and
private bathrooms with Italian tiled floors (some with
whirlpool tubs). Additional amenities include phones with data
ports, cable television, and fax access for the business
traveler.
Complimentary refreshments are always
available upon arrival and throughout the day. Take a seat on
the patio garden, relax in the living room, or retire to the
game/music room to read a book, play a game, or listen to
music. In the evening, savor cordials and fine chocolates.
Morning is never an occasion to be missed
at the Inn, when a full gourmet breakfast is prepared to order
by your hostess, Marlena, a former chef instructor at the
Culinary Institute of America. Served in the formal dining
room, guests enjoy American classics, Rumanian specialties,
and Mexican, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean egg dishes and
breads. Main courses are accompanied by different ethnic
salsas and herbal mixes. |
