The B Street House Bed and
Breakfast in the heart of Virginia City, Nevada is one of the
last standing "row" style house in this wonderful
historic city in the Sierras of the old west.
Built in 1876, the "B" Street
House was completely restored to a three-bedroom guest inn.
Now, finely appointed in period antiques and reproductions,
this lovely B&B will transport you to the charm of the
Victorian era in the Silver State.
"B" Street House provides a total
of three upstairs guest rooms. Each accommodation offers
queen-sized bed, a private bath with a tub/shower combination,
Cable TV with DVD player, High Speed Internet, private
thermostat, and fine chocolates upon arrival. Two guestrooms
have large windows with picturesque views of the city and
surrounding landscape. The middle room features a skylight.
Downstairs the parlor/dining room and well-stocked library
invite you to peruse local newspapers and books about Nevada
and the American West. Guests love to sit in the sunny
five-pane bay window and enjoy the bustle of B Street. A fine
selection of family entertainment DVDs in the library are
ready for you to enjoy in your room. And at your request, your
hosts will be happy to crank the antique Victrola for a
musical treat.
An abundant breakfast featuring freshly
baked breads, muffins, scones, with seasonal fruits, yogurt
parfaits, specialties, and a hot entrée which changes
daily, is served in the dining area of the parlor every
morning. Hot coffee, decaf, and assorted teas are available in
the parlor at 7:30 a.m.
Your hosts, Chris and Carolyn, encourage
guests to feel at home in the parlor, library and outdoor
garden area. Come and enjoy the simple restorative pleasures
of rest, relaxation, good food and natural beauty set in the
elegance of the Old West at the B Street House Bed and
Breakfast. |
The excitement of the old west comes alive
in Virginia City, where miners became millionaires and Mark
Twain started his writing career. Virginia City boasts many
fine museums from, galleries, shops and stores with unique and
unusual goods. Piper's Opera House has great productions in a
wonderful setting.
At the peak of its glory, Virginia City
was a boisterous town. Men came from everywhere, the "Bonanza
Kings" of Irish descent: Mackay, Fair, Flood and O'Brien.
The spirits of these Comstock characters still inhabit the
places they built, and romance still thrives in the wondrous
place in the shadow of Sun Mountain.
Theatrical productions are many and varied
and evening entertainment includes music of many venues. Dont
miss a ride on the restored Virginia & Truckee Railroad,
the crookedest track in the West. |
