Walk through the massive carved gates of 200-year-old Hacienda Antigua and step back in time.

The traditional thirty-inch earthen walls of this grand old adobe home built by Don Pablo Yrisarri have sheltered travelers for centuries along the historic El Camino Real. A few artifacts and memorabilia from these rich and colorful territorial times remain in the home, but most were donated by the family to the Museum of New Mexico. The Yrisarris were prominent ranchers, traders and community leaders. Visitors would frequent the Hacienda to purchase provisions from the mercantile store or dance in the cantina.

Colorful family quilts, quality linens, polished antiques, wood carvings by Santero Ben Ortega, and fresh flowers, give each room its own unique feeling. The warmth and serenity that surround you will revitalize your spirit. The Inn has five guest rooms with Kiva fireplaces and private baths.

A hearty, palate pleasing breakfast is served in the sun splashed courtyard in the summer and in front of a crackling kiva fireplace in the winter.

A different menu greets guests each day with entrees such as "Guilt Free" oatmeal pancakes, sumptuous egg casseroles with a taste of the delicious New Mexican green chile, and a knock-out bread pudding that sends everyone back for more. Breakfast at Hacienda Antigua was featured in the Summer 1994 issue of "Culinary Trends" magazine.

Nearby attractions include the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, Old Town, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway, the Rio Grande Nature Center, and more.

Today, the Hacienda Antigua is again offering rest and respite to travelers as one of Albuquerque's premier Bed and Breakfasts.
