The Bedford Inn Bed & Breakfast is
well located in Cape May, New Jersey just a very short block
to the beach, near many fine restaurants and shops. Built in
1883 as a seaside vacation home, the Inn has since been
catering to family, friends, and vacationers to the New Jersey
shore ever since. This sense of history makes Bedford Inn a
warm alternative to a hotel.
Relax and enjoy the quiet of an authentic
Victorian guest room or perhaps a "honeymoon" suite
for a special getaway. All seven rooms and three suites have
private baths, each with a shower and some with an
old-fashioned clawfoot tub. Each lodging accommodation is
decorated with period antiques but has touches of the new
century with air conditioning (in summer) and color
television. Many of the rooms provide queen-size beds, while
two suites each offer a king-size bed.
Start your day off with a sumptuous
breakfast shared with other guests in the dining room, or take
a tray to one of the porches to enjoy the fresh air. Enjoy the
cozy fireplace in the Victorian parlor or choose a book from
one of the bookcases and grab a rocking chair to laze away an
hour or two on one of the large, airy verandahs. Come down to
tea in the late afternoon, and if you feel sociable, visit
with other guests, sharing your impressions of Cape May.
Come for a visit to the Bedford Inn -- take
a well-earned break from your busy life at home to relax and
enjoy the quiet warmth of a home created over many years. Take
back special memories of the old-fashioned charm of this
village by the sea. |
Take a stroll, bicycle ride or go back in
time on a horse & carriage ride through the streets of our
enchanting Victorian Village by the sea.
Of course, you will want to head for the
beach and its pleasures. Your rates include beach chairs and
beach towels, and you even have access to hot-water outdoor
showers and a powder room after check-out if you want to grab
some last-minute beach time. Join a guided tour of the
beautiful Historic District or poke around town yourself,
admiring Cape May's famed Victorian architecture with its
exuberant gingerbread trim, brows through the many unique
shops, or indulging in a coffee break on the "Victorian
Mall" as you leisurely watch the world go by. Golf,
tennis, whale watching, and fishing are nearby as well.
