Built in 1850, this airy mansion designed for William Weightman, a Philadelphia chemist, was originally located in the center of town. In 1881, Mr. Weightman decided he wanted an ocean view and moved the house to the corner of Ocean and Beach Drive. The mansion was moved to its current location after the Noreaster Storm of 1963.

Each guest room at the Angel is uniquely furnished and decorated. Many lodging accommodations have ocean views, and all, of course, have private baths. In addition, all guests have access to the Angel's many porches and verandas. Although well-behaved children over the age of eight are permitted at the Inn, they are seldom present, making the Angel a perfect destination for honeymooners, couples celebrating a special anniversary, or those just looking for a quiet, romantic getaway for two.

Mornings at the Angel begin with a hearty, sumptuous full breakfast. Guests can help themselves to a buffet of fresh fruits, cold juices, a variety of cereals, mouth-watering freshly baked muffins and coffee cakes, a wide assortment of teas, and one of the Angel's many popular hot fruit dishes. Guests then choose one of two gourmet entrees that are served piping hot to their table.

From early spring through the tranquil late fall, bicycles are available to guests to explore the island. In the summer, sand chairs, towels, umbrellas, and beach tags are all provided at no charge.
