Ingredients

6 ounces cream cheese

1/2 cup confectioners sugar

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

One 12-ounce container Cool Whip dessert topping

1 prepared angel food cake

1 pint strawberries

1 pint blueberries

Cut the angel food cake into 1-inch cubes. Beat the cream cheese and sugar until well combined. Stir in vanilla. Gently fold the Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture. Place half of the cake cubes in a large clear glass bowl or individual dessert dishes. Cover with 1/2 of the Cool Whip mixture and then 1/2 of the berries. Top with the remaining cake then the Cool Whip mixture. Arrange remaining berries in a decorative fashion in the top of the trifle.

Note: For a lighter version of this festive dessert, use Neufchatel cheese and light or fat-free Cool Whip. Try substituting any seasonal berries or peaches for a great variation on this treat!
