This intimate luxury country Inn is surrounded by extensive
landscaping. Over 200 acres offer magnificent views of the
Presidential and Dalton Mountain ranges, perennial gardens,
ponds, and woods with walking paths. Inside, a formal entry
hall separates large and comfortable dining and living rooms,
featuring a fireplace and comfortable groupings of sofas and
easy chairs.
The granite Tap Room, with overstuffed club chairs and a
refrigerator stocked with complimentary sodas and juices, is
always available for relaxing or a game of pool at a 1927
table. A granite fireplace, piano, and large screen television
with VCR and a library of movies are for your entertainment.
Nine luxurious guest rooms, each named after a local
mountain, are furnished with a variety of period antiques,
reproductions, and original art. Each accommodation has a
lovely view of the White Mountains or the beautifully
landscaped grounds and is furnished with a private bath with
shower, queen- or king-sized bed, and air conditioning. Some
rooms offer fireplaces, two-person tubs, a fainting coach,
armoire, and writing desks. A private, two-bedroom/one bath
cottage has a kitchen, living room with fireplace, den with
television, and deck.
Each morning breakfast consists of fruit juices, fresh
fruit, yogurt, homemade oatmeal or granola, steaming hot
popovers, and a hot entree such as a ham and cheese frittata,
fruit-filled French toast with Vermont cob-smoked bacon, or
pumpkin or lemon chiffon pancakes with local maple syrup.
Afternoon tea is served with homemade cakes and cookies.
Choices abound as Adair is conveniently located near the
750,000 acre White Mountain National Forest and numerous White
Mountain attractions both natural and man-made. One of the
main attractions is Mount Washington, at 6,288 feet (the
highest point in the northeast United States). The summit can
be reach by hiking, driving the Auto Road, or riding on the
Cog Railway. However you reach the top of Mount Washington, on
a clear day you'll be rewarded with a spectacular view that
stretches up to 100 miles in all directions, from the
mountains of Vermont and Canada all the way to the Atlantic
Ocean. |
