Ingredients:
1/2 gallon apple cider
1 cup cranberry juice
1/4 cup maple syrup
3 cinnamon sticks
1/2 teaspoon orange zest (can substitute several orange slices)
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
6 to 8 whole cloves

Combine all ingredients in a non-reactive pan. Heat slowly and simmer for 1/2 hour. Strain and hold at temperature while you serve.

Note: Reserve muddled flavorings and refrigerate together with any leftover liquid. Begin next day's batch using this is a starter.

Serves: many.
