  • Minimum Stay: There is a 2-night minimum stay on weekends. A three-night reservation is required on Easter weekend, Memorial Day weekend and Columbus Day.

  • Payment: 50% or 1 night's lodging as deposit (whichever is greater) with credit card at time of reservation. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express at the time of booking. Personal checks (received within 5 days of the reservation request date) are accepted.
    Check-in: is 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, unless prior arrangements are made with the innkeeper. Check-out: is by 11:00 am.
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellation notice must be received at least 14 days prior to scheduled arrival date to ensure refund of deposit. If cancellation occurs 14 days or less prior to scheduled arrival date, deposit will be refunded only if room is resold. A processing fee of $25.00 will be applied in all cases.
  • Restrictions: No pets. Strictly non - smoking inn. Children over 12 are welcome.
  • Breakfast: A full breakfast with choice of entree is served.
  • Recommended Favorite Recipes: Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Coffee Cake, ... Buttonwood Sausage Puff, and Blueberry Crumble French Toast.
  • Inn's Special Events: Conference facilities ideal for meetings for 10 to 15 people. Also: Romance Package - year round; Shoppers Shakeup - November and December; and Polar Express - The original - First 3 weeks in December.
  • Recreation & Activities: 65 kilometers of hiking and cross-country skiing trails from the property. Near to downhill skiing and snowshoeing. In-ground pool on site. Near tennis, golf, hiking, fly fishing in the East Branch of the Saco River, and rock climbing.
  • Attractions & Special Events: Mount Washington, Great Glen Trails, Conway Scenic Railroad, The Flume, and Old Man in the Mountain. Downhill skiing: Cranmore Mountain Resort, Attitash, Wildcat, Black Mountain, King Pine, and Shawnee Peak. Cross-country skiing: Great Glen Trails, Jackson Ski Touring, Bear Notch Ski Tour, and Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring.

  • Directions: From North Conway Village: From Rt. 16, at traffic light turn east onto Kearsarge Street. Follow 1.5 miles to stop sign. Straight across intersection to Mt. Surprise Road. Up Mt. Surprise Road, bearing left, to Inn.
    From Boston: I-95 North to Portsmouth, NH. Spaulding Tpk. North to end. Rt. 16 to North Conway OR Rt. 93N to Exit 23 (Rt 104E), to Rt. 25E to Rt. 16N to North Conway. From Rt. 16, at traffic light turn east onto Kearsarge Street. Follow 1.5 miles to stop sign. Straight across intersection to Mt. Surprise Road. Up Mt. Surprise Road, bearing left, to Inn.
    From New York City: NY thruway North (Major Deegan) to Rt. 287 East to 684 North to I-84 East. I-90 (MA Tpk.) East to Rt. 290 North (Exit 10), 290 North to I-495 to I-95, then follow directions from Boston.
    From Northwest: I-91 South to St. Johnsbury, VT. I-93 South to Littleton, NH. Rt. 302 East through Crawford Notch. Route 302 will merge with Rt. 16 from the North in Glen. Continue traveling south on Route 302/16. After approximately 3.3 miles, there is a highway sign for "The Buttonwood Inn - Hurricane Mt. Road". Take the SECOND left, ..3 miles. (Pass the entrance to Rt. 16A, Intervale Loop, even though your instinct will be to turn!) Turn left up Hurricane Mt. Road. Go 1.2 miles. Turn left onto Mt. Surprise Road and you'll see a black highway sign for The Buttonwood Inn pointing left. Bear to the left. The road will turn to dirt. You will see our sign straight ahead and our driveway just to the right of the sign.
