The
Buttonwood Inn on Mt. Surprise....
A memorable blend of hospitality, laughter, and
kindness.
Situated on a secluded road on the side of Mount Surprise in
the White Mountains, The Buttonwood Inn offers a quiet
location in North Conway, New Hampshire. The Inn is a member
of Select Registry-Distinguished Inns of North America (the
only national innkeeping organization that inspects its
members regularly) and a 1998 America's Favorite Inns Award
winner. You can feel confident that you will enjoy a memorable
bed and breakfast experience.
The Buttonwood Inn Bed and Breakfast was originally
constructed as a four-room Cape-style farmhouse. Although the
New England Inn has been completely renovated, it retains its
wide pine floors, period furniture, antiques, and stenciling.
Ten guestrooms, simple and uncluttered, each have a private
bath. One room has a gas fireplace and another has a gas
fireplace and a two-person Jacuzzi. Comfortable family suites
are also available for a variety of lodging accommodations.
Spacious common areas allow for the ultimate in comfort. The
Mt. Surprise Room on the lower level has a fieldstone
fireplace, TV/VCR and movies, guest refrigerator, a selection
of games, books and magazines. The main floor living room is a
little more formal with Moses Eaton stenciling, a fireplace
and a blend of antiques and reproduction furniture. Settle
into a comfy leather chair and plan your hiking, biking,
snowshoeing, and the rest of your vacation.
The Buttonwood Inn is the perfect spot for a small meetings
or corporate retreats. Private, bright, well-lit meeting
space, along with breakout space, fax and a separate phone
line, also provides the ability to fulfill audio-visual needs.
The Inn's location and common space offer a pleasant
alternative to the usual hotel site. Food service is designed
to meet your specific needs. |
In summer, three-time award-winning gardens frame the inn. A
granite foundation from a long-ago barn backdrops the heated
20 x 40-foot in-ground swimming pool and the large hottub.
The heated pool is open from late May until early November.
Adirondack chairs on the grounds are perfect for sitting,
sipping or reading. Hiking/cross country ski trails go right
off the back of the property.
Bill is more than delighted to help you plan your day and
choose from the inviting activities the Mt. Washington Valley
offers. Should you want to bypass the shopping traffic along
Route 16, there is a local way of getting from here to there.
Winter is not just for the skier. Nearby Cranmore Mountain
Resort offers snow tubing, which is a perfect way to get a
little sun and fresh air and laugh and scream like you're a
kid again. Snowshoeing is very popular.
If you can walk, you can snowshoe. Then there are ice
skating and sleigh rides, and, not to be forgotten any time of
the year, shopping. |
