The Inn at Valley Farms Bed and Breakfast & Cottages is
located on 105 acres of stone-walled, certified organic
farmland amidst the green rolling hills of New Hampshire's
Connecticut River Valley. The elegantly restored 1774 Colonial
home's rich heritage is mirrored by Walpole, a quaint little
town whose historic white clapboard homes and churches have
earned it a reputation as "the most picturesque in all of
New England."
You will feel right at home as you settle into one of the
two guest rooms and one suite in the main house or one of two
three-bedroom cottages. All of these spacious accommodations
are air-conditioned, have private baths, and are filled with
antiques and family heirlooms. Telephones with data ports
accommodate business travelers, while fresh flowers and
bedside chocolates appeal to the senses of all guests.
Each of the 3-bedroom cottages has a private-entry, will
comfortably sleep six and comes with a living/dining area and
a full kitchen with a refrigerator and cupboards stocked with
breakfast staples.
Guests staying in the main house enjoy a gourmet breakfast
served in the Valley Farms' formal dining room with raised
hearth. This multi-course meal includes homemade entrees,
breads, muffins, and jams and is prepared using fresh organic
eggs and produce harvested right here on the farm. Guests
staying in the cottages are treated to a hearty continental
breakfast and each morning awake to a basketful of fresh
homemade goodies delivered to their doorstep. Gourmet brown
bags are available for hikers or the business person on the
go.
Wild birds, plants and other wildlife thrive in this region
of New Hampshire and several diverse habitats on the farm
attract numerous wild bird, plant, and animal species. Spot
wild turkeys, pheasant, red-tail hawks, Dutchman's Breeches,
Jack-in-the Pulpit, fox, deer, raccoon, Trout Lilies,
Trilliums, and nesting kestrels and killdeer. Field guides in
the library can help enthusiasts identify their finds.
Recreational offerings include Hiking, tennis, biking,
fishing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, cross-country skiing,
snowshoeing, sledding, and snowmobiling promise thrills for
both young and old. A nine-hole golf course is nearby for
those who like to walk the links. |
