Named after the gracious lady who owned and occupied the
home at the turn of the century, the New England Inn and its
owners would like to invite you to sample their old-fashioned
hospitality, taste-tempting breakfasts, and charming and
attractive accommodations.
You will be taken back into a different time by the allure
and mystique of this house. Every step in the 2000 restoration
of this classic brick Federal Colonial home has carefully
preserved its original features yet furnishes you with the
comforts of today. No matter what was added or taken away, the
original appeal and character of this home has remained
through such classic features as its six Rumford fireplaces,
old interior window shutters, vintage turnkey locks, and
Christian doors.
The cozy living room provides a comfortable gathering place
for guests to get acquainted. When the air gets nippy, you
will be able to warm up in front of a blazing fire. Each of
the seven accommodations has its own unique characteristics
and has been meticulously adorned to produce an enchanting and
elegant atmosphere. Every room has a private bath, and four
contain working fireplaces.
The library provides a congenial setting every morning for a
full, bountiful breakfast. In the afternoon, come back to the
living room to enjoy tasty snacks. |
Nestled in the heart of the Lake Region, the Maria Atwood
Inn is conveniently located for an assortment of activities.
Choose from among skiing, snowmobiling, golf, tennis, hiking,
swimming, hunting, fishing, bicycling, or boating; all are
obtainable within a half-hour ride or less. The area is also
dotted with various antique shops, scenic viewing, historic
sites, summer theater, county fairs, and more. Sandi's
favorite is "Keepsake Quilting".
Sandi and Fred invite you to experience as one guest put it,
