The Inn at Bingham School is a bed and breakfast nestled among pecan trees in the rolling farmland of central North Carolina just west of Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina near Raleigh / Durham.

Originally this Greek and Federal style estate (circa 1845) served as a preparatory school for young men seeking entrance to the University of North Carolina at nearby Chapel Hill. Although the school itself is no longer standing, the headmaster's home, listed in the National Historic Registry, has received an award for its meticulous restoration.

Furnished in period antiques, the Inn offers four spacious guest rooms with modern private baths. At Bingham School Inn, you can experience more than just a room. You will be enveloped in the craftsmanship of a past era with a unique blend of old and new comforts. Enjoy climbing into a pencil-post canopy bed or rocking by the fire. Snuggle under 100% cotton Ralph Lauren sheets, matelasse coverlets and duvets. All beds have bedside tables on each side with reading lamps and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Sink into a whirlpool tub filled with bubbles. Accommodations are equipped with televisions, CD player, alarm clocks and wireless Internet is available.

Wake up to an elaborate breakfast served in the dining room or on the patio. The Inn's menus are designed to make the most of seasonal specialities; pear-almond waffles and baked German pancakes are just a few of the offerings. Fresh fruit, gourmet coffee, and teas always accompany all of the home-made breakfasts.

Relax on one of the porches after roaming the surrounding acres of woodland. Join in a game of croquet or find peace gently swinging in a hammock. Or spend your time indoors curling up with a good book, playing games in the parlor or watching a classic old movie. Whatever your choice, welcome the evening over complimentary wine and cheese.
