Fairview was built in 1908 for lumber
tycoon Cyrus C. Warren and is one of the few remaining
landmark properties in Jackson. In 1930 a prominent banker,
D.C. Simmons, purchased the estate and to this day it remains
in the family. The foyer, with its distinctive ceiling and
massive crystal chandelier reflecting onto the Venetian Marble
floor, makes one think that they are entering the grand
mansion of an affluent southern plantation owner.
The Inn specializes in weddings,
receptions, and corporate events. A spacious banquet room
connects the main home to the carriage house at the rear of
the property, which also holds the hideaway Hayloft Suite. The
library with an English hunt-club atmosphere and oak-paneled
walls is stocked with hundreds of books about the Civil War.
