Stuffed French Toast

Ingredients: One 8-ounce package cream cheese; 1 cup pitted sweet dark cherries or fresh Door County cherries if you can get them!; 1/2 cup heavy cream; 1 loaf unsliced eggbread, sliced in 1-1/2 inch thick slices; 6 eggs, beaten; Cinnamon; Powdered sugar

Beat cream cheese, cherries, and heavy cream together until smooth and creamy. Slice each piece of bread in half 3/4 of the way down, leaving 1/4 of it together. Stuff with 1/4 cup of mixture. Immediately dip in egg to coat and fry on hot grill. Before turning, sprinkle toast with cinnamon. When done on both sides, serve with powdered sugar or with maple syrup or cherries on top.
