The Northwest Region of Missouri borders along the Missouri River and is home the surprising cosmopolitan Kansas City. Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge and Big Lake State Park, both near Mound City, are home to an abundance of wildlife, including migrating snow geese and bald eagles. Stop by Historic Arrow Rock, and stay at a bed and breakfast, and dine at the oldest continuous operating restaurant west of the Mississippi River since 1834.
