The Best Kept Secret in Southwest Michigan, The Sanctuary at Wildwood sits on 95 acres of woods and meadows. Enjoy a romantic Michigan getaway weekend in the special theme rooms and cottage suites. Most often heard comment from guests, "The pictures do NOT do this place justice." Dock and Dolly Buerkle have incorporated the theme of "bringing the outdoors in" into the lodge and cottages.

Guests rooms incorporate the splendor of the outdoor surroundings within the decor of each guest room. The Heron Pass room, for example, has a dramatic corner headboard of peeled elms. The colors of the marsh at dawn throughout the room enhance the comfort and enjoyment of a queen-sized bed, full bath, Jacuzzi, fireplace, service bar with refrigerator and a private balcony. The other guests rooms are just as dramatic.

From your private balcony or deck in any of the Inn's five suites, you can watch the ever-changing panorama of nature from dusk to dawn, throughout the four seasons of the year. The views from the Great Room and Dining Room are equally breathtaking. As many as 60 Canadian Geese have descended upon the pond and spent a leisurely Sunday afternoon before proceeding to their destination. The Blue Heron, the inspiration for the Inn's logo, visits the pond morning and evening during the summer months, and deer and wild turkeys can be seen year-round.

The Sanctuary also offers six cottage suites situated around the lake pond. Each room has a queen tree bed, an in-room Jacuzzi, fireplace, service bar and mini-fridge, private bath and enclosed private screened porch with fantastic views. Four cottage suites now have Jenn-Air kitchenettes.

The Sanctuary at Wildwood serves a full candlelight breakfast each morning.
