Bar Harbor, Maine's Manor House Inn, built
in 1887 by Col. James Foster as a 22-room mansion, welcomes
you to enjoy its gracious hospitality. A warm hotel
alternative, the New England bed and breakfast was
authentically restored to its original splendor, and in 1980,
Congress rewarded these efforts by placing the Inn on the
National Register of Historic Places.
The moment you step into the front entry, a
romantic Victorian past becomes the present. The elegant
common rooms are decorated with antique furnishings, Victorian
wallcoverings, original maple floors, and several working
fireplaces. All of the 18 charming guest rooms and spacious
suites are furnished with fine antiques, period accessories,
gracious touches and comfortable surroundings. Some lodgings
have working fireplaces, garden views, and king-size beds. All
guest accommodations have private baths.
Each morning wake up to a delicious
home-baked breakfast of fresh blueberry muffins, home-baked
breads, fruit salad, coffee, tea, juices, and cereals
accompanied each day with a hot entree such as ham and cheese
baked omelet, wild Maine blueberry pancakes, eggs Florentine,
quiche, or baked stuffed blueberry French toast.
From Park Loop Road you can enjoy Sand
Beach, Thunder Hole, and spectacular views of the rockbound
coast of Maine. Be the first in the continental U.S. to see
the sunrise from the summit of Cadillac Mountain. Bring your
camera to catch the creatures of the evergreen forest and the
ever-changing Atlantic tide pools. Make Manor House Inn your
home at the end of a day exploring the Park. |
This three-story mansion is located on

Harbor's fine shops and restaurants. Opportunities for whale
watching, schooner rides, bike rentals and even Bar Island are
