- Accommodations: Shore Oaks Seaside Inn:
has 10 luxurious bedrooms, 2 with fireplaces, and 7 with private
baths. There is a large oceanfront wrap around porch, a living room
with large fireplace, dining room and library. The building is just
feet from the ocean with a gazebo on the water. Assorted tea, coffee
and assorted nibbles await arriving guests.
Fifteen Cottages: They vary in size and style
and have either full kitchens or kitchenettes. Most have
wood-burning fireplaces. They are charmingly inspired with a
sophisticated rusticity. They sleep from 2 to 9 people each.
- Rates: Vary greatly during the season due to differences
in accommodation, amenities and inclusion of meals.

site has detailed descriptions of the rooms and cottages and a
breakdown of rates. Special deals are available throughout the year.
Call the office for assistance in arriving at the rate and
accommodation that best meets your needs. Rates are subject to

- Open: Shore Oaks Seaside Inn and the cottages are open
early May through late October. Two cottages are winterized and open
all year.

Rooms have a 2-day minimum stay on weekends only, and the
cottages have some minimum stay requirements. Last minute and
walk-in stays may be charged on a daily basis as availability
permits.

- Payment: Deposit is 30% of the total stay or a minimum
of 1 day's charge. All deposits will be applied to the last days of
a reservation.
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellation notice must be
received at least 30 days prior to scheduled arrival date to ensure
refund of deposit. The deposit will be refunded by August 31. With
less than 30 days' notice, deposits are refundable only if the space
can be filled by another guest. Guests departing in advance of the
departure date of their reservation will be charged for the time
reserved unless the space can be subsequently filled by another
guest.
- Restrictions: No pets on premises, thank you. This is a
smoke free resort. Children of all ages welcome.
- Breakfast: Full (in season).
- Lunch/Dinner: There is an on-site restaurant that is
open for breakfast and dinner from mid-June through mid-October. It
features five-course gourmet dinners in a country setting.

- Special Events at Inn: Weddings, family reunions,
intimate and larger weddings, business gatherings, group retreats,
schooner tour and lobster dinner getaway packages, beach lobster
picnics for visiting yacht club flotillas, kayak tours, and bicycle
tours. Also photography and art workshops.
- On-Site Recreation & Activities: There are 50 acres,
lawn games for the children, a wagon barn with casual activities
(Ping-Pong, foosball, family-oriented videos in the evening),
organic gardens (from which are harvested herbs, edible flowers,
vegetables, and flowers for the dining rooms and guest rooms),
hiking trails, ocean and lake beaches for swimming, as well as a
dock and rowboats for guest use. Arrive either by car or boat! We've
moorings too. Shore Oaks Seaside Inn has a large oceanside porch
with a comfortable assortment of rocking chairs in which to laze
away some relaxing hours. The view is of Pumpkin Island Lighthouse
and the islands of East Penobscot Bay. Dreamy! The cottages have
outdoor sitting areas and indoor living rooms with fireplaces and
comfortable seating in which to curl up and take a nap or read a
book.
- Attractions & Special Events: Holbrook Island
Sanctuary, Bucks Harbor Yacht Club, Blue Hill Mountain hiking
trails, Stonington Harbor's working fishing village, Castine's
historic district with stunning examples of early Federal
architecture, Deer Isle's Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. The
area is sprinkled with coastal villages and antique shops and
bookstores, an abundance of art galleries, several golf courses, an
assortment of restaurants from seafood drive-ins, fine dining, and
cafes specializing in exotic cuisines from around the world. Blue
Hill's Kneisel Hall Music School holds performances through out July
and early August. The Stonington Opera House has world class Jazz
concerts and entertainment through the season. The Blue Hill Fair
marks the end of the summer. WoodenBoat School is just up the road
and Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are within an hour's drive.
Wanderlust for the ocean? Take a whale watching trip, a schooner day
trip or a lobster boat ride!
- Recommended Local Restaurant: Our dining rooms are open
from mid-June through mid-October, but we can recommend other local
restaurants with regional flair like Arborvine, Westcott Forge, and
Marlintini's in Blue Hill or Fisherman's Friend in Stonington.
