Homestead Inn
Opening Summer of 2008

Built in the early 1900's, the Homestead Inn, formerly a bed and breakfast, is an old, turn-of-the-century boarding house in York Beach, Maine that was converted to your hosts' home in the 1960's. Upon entering the New England guest house, guests will find a picturesque living room with a window seat and fireplace. The original interior woodwork of the house remains, including the old, hard pine of the stairway banisters that guide the way to the guest rooms.

Homestead offers individually decorated four rooms with views of the ocean, the shore hills, and Mt. Agamenticus. Three rooms each have a double bed, and one room has two twin beds. All lodging accommodations have ceiling fans, over-bed lighting, and reading chairs. For personal care, each room has its own sink, vanity, mirrors, soaps, and towels; the four rooms share two full baths. Bathrobes, quilts, and extra pillows are also available in each room. The rooms do not have television. Please note that rooms are upstairs and not handicap accessible. A modem jack is available for guests to check their email. Guests may enjoy relaxing on the private sun deck or the porch, or curl up in front of the fireplace in spring or fall.

Coffee and tea are served in the living room from 7:00 until 10:00 a.m. each morning. For your morning meal, many fine restaurants are just a short walk along the beach.

Dan is a Justice of the Peace and performs weddings at the Inn, outside in the garden, or on the beach and at Nubble Lighthouse. He will provide information on the laws and requirements for getting married in Maine. Dan can also perform ceremonies in Spanish or French.

Homestead is next to lovely Short Sands Beach, where guests can stroll, bike, or walk. The atmosphere of this beach community is quite relaxed. Homestead Inn is close to Nubble Lighthouse, historic York Village, theaters, galleries, and restaurants. There is an old-fashioned trolley service, a short drive away are factory outlets, and opportunities for whale watching, deep sea fishing and sailing. Golf and tennis are also nearby. No more than ten miles away are Kittery and Portsmouth to the south, and Ogunquit and Kennebunkport to the north.
