Inn at Tanglewood Hall is an enchanting
1880's "Victorian Cottage" located along the
beautiful New England coastline of York, Maine.
Set amidst lush woodlands and colorful
gardens, the bed and breakfast inn offers a quiet oasis in the
heart of York Harbor. All rooms at the Inn at Tanglewood Hall,
once a York Historical Society Decorator Show House, have been
custom decorated and individually designed and furnished with
your comfort in mind.
The home offers an intimate and reflective
setting for your visit. All lodgings are large and airy, quite
typically Victorian. Each guest room is air-conditioned, some
have ceiling fans, and all include completely renovated
private baths. Some rooms also offer private sitting rooms,
porches, or gas fireplaces.
Enjoy the "Bountiful Buffet"
breakfast on the large wraparound verandah, which faces the
gardens and natural woods. Inside, a parlor is joined to the "morning
room" and the dining room, all with fireplaces. A large
foyer and a "hideaway" room accent the downstairs. A
grand staircase leads to the guestrooms on the second floor
and mezzanine.
Activities abound in the area. The ocean is
just a short walk away. Beaches, fishing villages, and rocky
coastlines begin here and extend northward. A cliff path is
just around the corner, offering open ocean views along
Maine's rugged coastline. Stroll along the cliff path into Old
York Village, where you can tour the Old Gaol and visit homes
over 100 years old. Take romantic walks down

shoppers, nearby Kittery is home to more than 120 designer

shops and barns along Route One. There are several golf
courses for those who like to grab a game wherever they go.
For those looking for a more active
holiday, try your hand at kayaking along the rivers and coves
of the rocky coastline. Seafarers can travel deep into the
Atlantic or stay close in the harbor and enjoy a fun-filled
day of Maine fishing or whale watching.
There's plenty of mountain terrain for
hiking, biking, and horseback riding on Mount Agamentacus. The
views are spectacular, and stargazing is magnificent! |
