Overlooking picturesque Northwest Harbor of
Penobscot Bay, Pilgrims Inn on Deer Isle, Maine is the
perfect place to experience Downeast Maine. Built in 1793, the
historic post and beam Maine inn welcomes you with an ambiance
and warmth of a bygone era. Listed on the National Register of
Historic Places, the inn is a member of the Select Registry of
Inns.
The Pilgrim's Inn Bed and Breakfast offers
12 guestrooms, all with private baths. Rooms in the main
building have views of either Northwest Harbor across the
road, or the large and tranquil mill pond. All rooms feature
historic colors, pumpkin pine floors, period pieces, private
bathrooms and fine linens. Several feature gas fire places,
exposed rough beams, and Deer Isle granite. Television and
local phone service is available to guests in the library and
game room. Wireless Internet access is available for those who
bring their own laptops. For families with young children,
guests with pets, or those who just prefer extra space and
privacy, a separate unit are also available in Ginny's
Cottage, the romantic and charming vintage house adjacent
to the Inn. Additionally, the Rugosa Rose guest
cottage, a romantic two story hideaway is available.
All guests are invited to enjoy the Inn's
complimentary breakfasts. Each morning youll be treated
to a choice between an egg or sweet breakfast entrée
such as Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes served with pure Maine
maple syrup, Brioche French Toast with fruit compote, or
Savory Zucchini Pancakes with feta cheese and scallions. Youll
also be served juice, homemade granola and Maine roasted Carpe
Diem coffee, along with fresh muffins made daily. |
The
Maine Coast... Rocky coastline, quiet coves, and
beautiful views greet visitors at every turn on Deer Isle in
Penobscot Bay.
As a guest at Pilgrims Inn you can
explore nearby nature trails, take kayaking excursions to
surrounding islands with licensed guides, travel to Isle au
Haut and Acadia National Park, visit the numerous art
galleries, or take classes at the world renowned Haystack
Mountain School of Crafts.
The Inn is also a perfect base for taking
scenic drives along the coast and exploring the beautiful
towns of the Blue Hill Peninsula.
Dinner is available at the Whale's Rib
Tavern located inside the Inn. The rustic ambiance offers
dining with views of the mill pond. The cozy tap room creates
a warm and inviting atmosphere. In the summer months, seating
on the deck is enjoyable and on many weekends local musicians
provide folk music for your entertainment. |
