The Colonial village of Fryeburg, Maine is the perfect setting for The Oxford House Inn, which was built as a private home in 1913 for the Fox family. They were the first entrepreneurs in the lumber industry in the Fryeburg area.

Their Edwardian-style home was built on part of the foundation of The Oxford House Hotel, which burned down in 1906. In 1985, the Oxford House was converted into a New England country inn providing bed and breakfast lodging plus a gourmet restaurant.

The Oxford House Inn has been awarded Three Diamonds by AAA and is "a perfect place to stay while visiting the North Conway area," according to Yankee Books Guide to Country Inns and B&B's.
