Welcome to Bath, home of the world-class shipbuilder Bath Iron Works and the seventeenth best small city in America! In 1608, the first ship built in the New World was launched twelve miles down river, and since that time, ships of every class have been built here.

At the south end of the city is the nationally acclaimed Maine Maritime Museum, often visited by Tall Ships. Nearby are coastal beaches with beautiful expanses of sand, water, and sky. Downtown Bath has a unique mix of stores, restaurants, and services. Dock at the City Pier, enjoy a picnic at he Kennebec riverfront park, and stay in one of the charming bed and breakfasts.
