Nestled on a peaceful cove of Deep
Creek Lake... |
The building is the former monastery of the
Discalced Carmelite Fathers, who chose the site on Deep Creek
Lake for its natural beauty and tranquility. The retreat house
has been completely renovated to become the lovely country inn
of today.
Carmel Cove Inn at Deep Creek Lake
accommodations are beautifully appointed with attention to
comfort and detail. Each guestroom has robes, phone,
television with DVD player, and a private bathroom with a
modern shower. Many rooms have special features such as
fireplaces, Jacuzzis, private decks, and private breakfast
room service. All rooms offer tranquil views of the garden or
woods.
Sip a cooling libation or soak in the sun
on the deck overlooking Deep Creek Lake shoreline. Watch a
movie, snuggle by the fireplace, or shoot a game of billiards
in the Inn's common room -- the former chapel of the
monastery.
In the mornings, linger over a hot cup of
coffee at your own windowside table, or lounge in your guest
room awaiting your gourmet room service breakfast. Enjoy such
specialties as Carmel Cove's own Belgian waffles smothered
with fresh strawberries, cheesy sausage mushroom quiche, fresh
fruit salad, or perhaps a stack of pancakes hot off the
griddle served with local pure Maryland maple syrup.
"Lovely...
elegant... a cozy place where I found the morning newspaper
before breakfast and after dinner chocolates and sherry in the
evening." - James Yenckel, The Washington Post |
Just steps down a wooded walking trail lies
the Inn's peaceful cove of scenic Deep Creek Lake and the
alpine beauty of this fun-filled resort community. Fish from
the Inn's Deep Creek Lake shore, or take the canoe for a
paddle across the cove to the beautiful sand swimming beaches
of Deep Creek Lake State Park. The state park also offers
beautiful picnic areas, hiking trails, a public boat launch,
snowmobile and cross-country ski trails, hunting, and a world
of other activities... all steps from the Inn.
Although tucked away on its own wooded two
acres, the bed and breakfast is in the heart of all Deep Creek
Lake activities. Nearby are all Deep Creek Lake restaurants,
nightlife, lake competitions, and festivals. A short drive
down the deep Creek Lake shoreline takes you to the renowned
Wisp Ski Area and its 23 trails with nine lifts. |
