The Weathervane Inn Bed and Breakfast, nestled in the
foothills of the Berkshires, is in the quaint New England
village of South Egremont in the southwestern corner of
Massachusetts, right next to Great Barrington, just 2-1/2
hours from New York City or Boston.
The AAA-recommended Weathervane consists of a small cluster
of buildings constructed during a time when people still cared
about comfort, graciousness, and how things were put together.
The Weathervane began life as a 1785 farmhouse and still has
the original fireplace with its beehive oven.
Located on ten acres of gardens and trees, there is plenty
of room to roam and relax at the Weathervane, with lots of
common rooms for guests to sit and relax by a fire or read a
book. Eleven period-appointed rooms, including a two-bedroom
suite with fireplace, are yours from which to choose. All of
the rooms at the inn have either king, queen, or twin beds for
those who desire them, as well as private baths and air
conditioning for the summer season. In the mornings, a
scrumptious full breakfast will lure you to the dining room
with its wafting smell.
Each season in the Berkshires is a delightful experience.
You can relax at the Weathervane any time of year, sunning by
the pool in the summer or resting by the fireside in winter.
The inn is close to all the Berkshire cultural activities,
such as Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Berkshire Theatre
Festival, the Norman Rockwell Museum, and the Shaker Museum,
to name just a few. Golf and tennis are available at the
Egremont Country Club, which is right next door to the
Weathervane.
When you finish your day's wanderings, a cup of tea and a
sweet will revive your energy. Then you can choose one of many
fine restaurants for a memorable evening meal. End your day
with a good night's sleep in your comfortable bed. Come and
let Jeffery and Maxine introduce you to the Weathervane Inn, a
beautiful country inn in the beautiful Berkshires. |

You might consider bicycling on local country roads, hiking
through rolling hills and fields, or strolling along woodland
and foliage trails, which are especially magnificent in
autumn. Horseback riding and fishing from lakes and trout
streams await you minutes from Weathervane. When the weather
is right for it, downhill and cross-country skiers can do
their thing at either Catamount or Butternut Basin, both
within a ten-minute drive from the inn. |
