Ingredients

2 sticks plus 2 Tablespoons of butter or margarine

5-1/2 cups flour

4 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 cups sugar

1-1/2 cups golden raisins

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

1 cup buttermilk

5 egg yolks, beaten

Place the flour, sugar, baking powder, and butter in a food processor and blend until the mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Put mixture into a large mixing bowl and add raisins, yogurt, and buttermilk. Blend until the mixture pulls together, then turn out onto a floured surface and divide into four parts. Pat each part into a 1-inch-high circle and cut each circle into eight wedges. Place the wedges on a floured baking sheet and brush with beaten egg yolk. Bake at 350 degrees in a preheated oven until the scones are golden brown.
