This Western Massachusetts Eco-Friendly
Vegetarian/Vegan B&B and Retreat is a 1790 restored
farmhouse with an attached artist/writer studio and barn
(flower arranging studio). The buildings are surrounded by
rambling organic gardens, marvelous sky and landscapes,
cross-country skiing and snow shoeing on a twenty-acre
hillside (ten acres are in wildlife conservation) in the
foothills of the Berkshires just six miles west of
Northampton, Massachusetts.
Flower Hill Farm Bed and Breakfast is
unique in its beauty, simplicity, privacy, spacious suites,
and earth-friendly philosophy and practices. The suites are
excellent for weekend getaways or for longer extended stays.
There are three private, spacious, charming
and imaginative guest suites. Accommodations provide all the
amenities to make your stay relaxing and comfortable whether
you are staying two nights or more than a week. Comfortable
large beds, fireplaces, private baths, sitting areas, kitchens
and garden views all let you enjoy the Berkshires at a
leisurely pace.
For those wanting to retreat from the
world, needing to work in the area, or relocating, Flower Hill
Farm offers special rates for the entire upstairs or
downstairs for extended stays. Enjoy the quiet with places to
read, write, paint, or just relax and enjoy nature.
Flower Hill Farm's Continental certified
organic vegetarian/vegan breakfast includes fresh baked
muffins, which (in season) may be jazzed up with the B&B's
own blueberries, currants, or raspberries; fresh fruit salad;
juice; fresh ground organic "fair trade" coffee; and
tea. Breakfast is ready around 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. in the dining
room, which has a fireplace and double French doors leading
out to the gardens. Let your hosts know if you want a private
breakfast. |
Northampton, home to Smith College and the
Paradise City Arts Festival, is only 15 minutes away, while
Lenox/ Tanglewood, Stockbridge, MOCA, Becket, with Jacobs
Pillow and Williamstown/Clarke Museum, are an easy 45 minutes
to one-hour drive.
The surrounding hilltowns are filled with
great bookstores, excellent restaurants and both famous and
unknown writers and artists who have seasonal open studios and
sales. Writers' workshops such as Patchwork Farm, yoga, dance
and other creative ventures abound in the valley and
hilltowns. Snow Farm and the New England Craft Program are
five minutes from Flower Hill Farm. |
