Lanes Cove House is a cozy and comfortable New England
Victorian bed and breakfast overlooking picturesque Lanes Cove
in Lanesville, one of Gloucester, Massachusetts' most charming
villages. Lanes Cove House offers ocean views, spectacular
sunsets, a perennial garden, and plenty of hospitality, just
one hour from Boston.
Each of the three lodging accommodations is tastefully
furnished and decorated. Polished hardwood floors, Oriental
rugs, air conditioners, fans, and cable television are
standard features. The Green and Blue
rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers, and the Quilt
room has a private bathroom with a tub/shower just outside the
bedroom door. Both Quilt and Blue rooms have beautiful ocean
views, and the Blue room can be paired with a kitchen/sitting
room to form a private suite. The common area sitting room not
only includes a fully equipped kitchenette for guest use, but
also a cordless phone, books, videos, games, puzzles, iron and
board. The house is Wi-Fi accessible.
Enjoy pre-breakfast coffee in your room, followed by a
delicious expanded continental breakfast in the dining room or
on the deck overlooking Lanes Cove. Freshly baked scones, a
variety of the Inn's own muffins, breads with special
toppings, yogurts, and a selection of fruits, juices, and
cereals are accompanied by premium coffees and teas for a
wonderful morning meal.
No matter how you choose to spend your day, remember to
return to Lanes Cove House in time to watch the sunset from
the deck while enjoying tea and cookies or your own wine. Your
hosts look forward to sharing the Inn, Gloucester, and the
rest of Cape Ann with you. |
A ten-minute stroll from Lanes Cove House brings you to the
small village beach, or drive ten minutes to two beautiful
wide beaches. Take in one of the seagoing harbor, lighthouse,
lobstering, and whale watching tours. Sailing, fishing, and
sea kayaking are other enjoyable ocean activities. Even
landlubbers are fortunate to be able to board the beautiful
old schooner Adventure, a National Historic Landmark,
which is docked for restorations at the Maritime Heritage
Center. Sunday morning breakfasts aboard the schooner are a
treat. If you love to shop, downtown Gloucester, Rockport and
Manchester are nearby, while serious and not-so-serious
antique shoppers will want to visit Essex and Rowley.
Visiting art lovers will enjoy the art studios, museums, and
art associations all over Cape Ann, including the Rocky Neck
Art Colony, the oldest art colony still in existence in
America. Music, dance, and theater are also well represented.
