Frank Newhall Look Memorial Park, Route 9, Northampton, (413) 584-5457. Open daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day, as well as on weekends during the spring and fall. Playgrounds, picnic shelters, tennis, walking path, Mill River (fishing), water spray park, , steamer train (replica of 1863 C.P. Huntington), paddle boats on Willow Lake, miniature golf, bumper boats, 2 outdoor theaters, zoo, Santa's Workshop, and holiday light show.
Northfield
Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center, 99 Miners Falls Road, Northfield, (800) 859-2960. 25 miles of trails for mountain biking, orienteering, hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Nearby camping, canoe rentals, and upriver shuttle service. 60-passenger riverboat cruise, visitors center, and free tours of power station.
