private baths and 15 with shared baths. Rooms that share a bath
share several baths in the hallway; the ratio of sharing is about 1
bath to 1.5 people. House is handicapped accessible, with accessible
rooms available.
- Rates: Rates are based on double
occupancy; for larger rooms, add $15.00 per additional adult (18
years) and $5.00 per additional child (7-17 years). There is no
charge for children under 7. Rates do not include a 12.45% room tax
and are subject to change without notice.

- Payment: Reservations are secured by
credit card or a 1-night deposit. Major credit cards, travelers'
checks, and cash accepted.
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellation
notice must be received at least 24 hours (except for groups) prior
to scheduled arrival date to avoid penalty. If your plans change and
you must cancel, call us. You will get a cancellation number. This
is your proof that you have cancelled. Even if you must cancel
closer to arrival, call anyway. If we re-rent the room, we will not
bill you. We do bill "no shows," as we have often
turned away other guests in order to keep our promise to our
reserved guests.
- Restrictions: No smoking (ash trays on
the porches outside). No pets (except for seeing-eye dogs). Children
welcome (if your little one needs a crib, please request it when
reserving).

- Directions: From Harvard Square:
From the river or Boston/Central Square, bear right as you see
Harvard Yard on right. You will go under Yard; bear left in
underpass and turn left onto Quincy Street. Turn right on Kirkland;
Irving Street is 3rd right. #24 is just after large brick building.
Driveway is just beyond house.
From Mass Pike (Route 90): Take
Brighton/Cambridge exit (from the West, it is a left exit). Follow
signs for Cambridge and get in left lane. Turn left before you cross
bridge onto Soldiers Field Road Exit at Harvard Square
From Route 93 from the North: Exit at
Somerville, Route 28, then exit Washington Street. Turn right at
light just at the end of the ramp. Washington Street becomes
Kirkland Street when it crosses Beacon Street at Cambridge City
Line. Irving Street is 3rd left after Beacon Street, #24 is last
house on left.
From Route 93 from the South: Off Route 95
Route 93 North through Boston; exit Mass Pike. Take Mass Pike West
to Brighton (or Allston)/Cambridge exit. There is a toll of $1.00.
Or from 93, exit Storrow Dr./Cambridge. Follow Signs for Storrow
Drive Exit at Harvard Square.
From Logan Airport: Follow signs for Boston
and Route 93 North; exit Cambridge/Storrow Drive. Take Storrow Drive
to Harvard Square. Or, follow signs for Mass Pike. This is
likely faster, but there is a toll of $1.00 as you exit the Pike.
