Ingredients

1 loaf of Portuguese Sweet Bread or other Brioche loaf

8 eggs

2 cups heavy cream

6 Tablespoons of sugar (divided)

4 ounces Grand Marnier liqueur (divided)

1 pint sliced strawberries

Confectioners sugar (for dusting)

Butter (for griddle)

Warm maple syrup (for serving)

Slice bread into 6 slices, then slice each in half so you have 12; set aside. Whisk eggs, cream, 5 Tablespoons sugar, and 3 ounces of Grand Marnier; refrigerate until ready. Sprinkle strawberries with 1 Tablespoon of sugar and 1 ounce of Grand Marnier; cover with plastic.

Heat griddle and coat with butter. Dip bread slices in cream batter until thoroughly soaked. Saute on griddle until golden brown on each side, about 5 minutes or less per side.

Place two slices on each plate, garnish with Tablespoon of marinated strawberries, and dust with confectioners sugar. Serve with warm maple syrup.
