Wonderful Chocolate Bars

Ingredients

3/4 cup brown sugar

1-1/2 cups oatmeal

1-1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cup butter

One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

One 12-ounce package chocolate chips

1 Tablespoon water

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. In a large bowl combine sugar, oats, flour and soda. Cut in butter. Press half of the mixture into bottom of prepared pan. In a saucepan, combine milk, chips, water and vanilla until just melted. Remove from heat, pour over mixture in pan. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top of filling, and gently swirl into filling. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven.

Let cool completely before cutting. Cut into 48 squares, serve.
