The Acton House, a classic Queen Anne Victorian built in 1868, offers both short-and long-term vacation rental lodging on Great Hill next to hundreds of acres of conservation land an hour from the ocean and 45 minutes by train from Boston.

The Acton House offers guests a wide range of accommodations, including everything from single and double individual guest rooms to fully furnished one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. One of the one-bedroom units features a working fireplace and six-foot Victorian tub. These bright and cheery accommodations are located in both the grand Victorian and the adjacent cottage, which was built in 1960. Six-foot windows, nine-foot ceilings, and a huge front porch define the main house. Each of the apartments has a kitchenette or full kitchen and a separate entrance.

With all the conservation land that abuts the property, there are hiking trails galore. Ten nearby golf courses beckon the competitive at heart.

The train to downtown Boston and Concord Center is a four-minute walk, while historic Concord, Cape Cod, and the Atlantic call to those who want to explore a bit further.

For those traveling with children or who just want to accommodate their inner child, The Children's Discover Museum is only five minutes away by foot. Visitors can also take advantage of many historical sites in Acton such as the preserved Hosmer and Faulkner Houses, as well as nearby Orchard House, Fruitlands Museum, Walden and the Minuteman National Historical Park.
