The Levy-East House Bed and Breakfast Inn is located in the
heart of the National Historic Landmark District in
Natchitoches, Louisiana.
This quaint southern town with its brick streets, was
founded in 1714 and is the oldest settlement in the Louisiana
Purchase. Iron-laced balconies overlooking Cane River Lake
give Natchitoches the flavor of New Orleans that charms many
visitors each year. Known for its warm hospitality and
history, Natchitoches has enjoyed a more recent historical
event... the filming of the movie Steel Magnolias.
Take a trolley ride and enjoy our Steel Magnolias tour.
This beautiful two-story Greek Revival house (circa 1838),
is listed on the National Historic Register. It has been
recently restored and tastefully renovated to capture the
spirit of an earlier time and is one of the most luxurious Bed
and Breakfast homes in the South. A most unique feature of the
Bed and Breakfast is that it is furnished with fine antiques
which have been in the house for over one hundred years. Each
piece has been carefully restored.
Guest rooms are located on the second and third floors with
a private entrance to the second floor. Each lodging
accommodation has been exquisitely decorated with period
antiques, precious heirlooms, and windows dressed with lavish
draperies fashioned from designer fabrics. Each room offers a
luxurious queen-size bed, television with VCR, telephone, and
a private whirlpool bath. Romantic music is piped into all of
the rooms.
Guests may relax on the front or back porch balconies.
Overlooking the Cane River Lake, the front veranda is
supported by iron columns and encircled by iron lace of the
same design as that of the old New Orleans Mint. A delicious
southern gourmet breakfast is elegantly served in the dining
room. |
The Inn is conveniently located in the heart of the Historic
District, making it close to the Cane River Plantations,
Historic Homes, and many antique shops. The Kisatchie National
Forest, Natchitoches Folk Festival, the Fall Pilgrimage Tour
of Homes, and Christmas Festival are all close by as well.
Guests usually enjoy taking trolley rides and boat tours.
