Located in the bohemian, artsy Faubourg Marigny area just four blocks from the New Orleans French Quarter, La Dauphine, Residence des Artistes, is a 100-year-old charmingly renovated Victorian bed and breakfast inn.

At this mellow and relaxing retreat from the whirling scenes of New Orleans, Louisiana, visitors to the Big Easy immediately sense its uninhibited, up-lifting attitude. Whether it's the confetti-strewn atmosphere you inhale, a delightful whiff from your can of Abita Turbo Dog or Dixie beers, or the sensation you get from your morning beignets and cafe au lait at the Cafe du Monde, you'll find the streets filled with sensuality, mystery, and the languid, listless air of the river and the swamps.

La Dauphine offers lodging accommodations with queen-sized beds. Each room has private bath. Rooms have cable TV, VCR, and phone. The Alec Baldwin Suite features a four-poster Louisiana Cypress queen bed. Each morning a Continental breakfast is served.

Your host, Ray Ruiz, is a native New Orleanian (who lived in San Francisco for 22 years). He is happy to clue you in to the local scene, especially regarding Cajun and Creole food and restaurants, art, antiques, architecture and music. Your co-host is Kim Pedersen, a research biologist from Denmark. Come experience the unique ambiance of New Orleans and learn why once you visit, you keep coming back again and again.

The music, architecture, boutiques, museums, antique shops and galleries of the French Quarter; the Aquarium; the Audubon Zoo; plantations make this city still a favorite destination that can easily be enjoyed from La Dauphine.
