Valentine Coffeecake

Ingredients

1 Package yellow cake mix

1 package (2 Tablespoons) dry yeast

1 cup flour

2 eggs

2/3 cup milk or water (lukewarm)

1 can (19-20 ounces) cherry pie filling

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1/3 cup margarine or butter

Combine 1-1/2 cups of yellow cake mix, dry yeast, flour, eggs, milk or water. Beat for two minutes into a stiff dough. Spread into heart-shaped pan or 9 x 13 inch pan that has been sprayed with oil. Top with cherry pie filling.

For the topping, cut together with pastry blender into crumbs (I use the same bowl I used for the dough to reduce dish washing): chopped walnuts, remainder of dry yellow cake mix, and margarine or butter. Sprinkle on top of pie filling. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
