This historic Greek Revival structure was
built in 1910 by William A. Jones, formerly of Chicago, as his
residence. Jones was an ardent sportsman and student of
firearms, accumulating nearly 1,000 pieces. Assessed to be one
of the top three collections in the world, it's now displayed
in the LaPorte County Museum through his donation.
Nearby, there are numerous historical
sights and museums, including the LaPorte County Museum,
housing the aforementioned antique firearms collection. There
are plenty of parks, golf courses, and tennis courts for
recreation, and fine dining is just a few minutes away, with
many excellent establishments throughout the area. Notre Dame
is a mere half-hour away, and Chicago lies an hour to the
northwest. Blue Chip casino is fifteen minutes away. |
