Salmon is located on the
Salmon River in central Idaho. The town sits at the foot of the
beautiful Beaverhead mountain range. Encircled by Salmon National
Forest, Salmon lies at the junction of the Lemhi and Salmon
rivers. It was an important point on the Lewis and Clark Trail and
the birthplace of Sacajawea.
Salmon is the regions
major gateway to mountains, mountain lakes and streams, rivers and
national forests.
The area is rich in
tradition, beauty and recreational opportunities. Area activities
include whitewater rafting, fishing, hunting, horseback riding,
cross-country and down-hill skiing, snowmobiling and ice skating.
