Enjoy the luxury of staying in a beautiful contemporary country home in the heartland of rural Iowa. Relax in the quietness of the countryside, surrounded by cornfields and beautiful flowers. Loy's Farm Bed and Breakfast is located three miles off the Interstate-80. The farm is somewhat specialized, as most farms are in these times. Your hosts operate some 1,200 acres, only part of which they own. A tour of the farm operations is available if timing is right for busy farmers.

The three rooms that serve as lodging accommodations for guests are named the Carousel (carousel appointments), Reflections (mirrors), and Iowa State (masculine). There is one shared bath with a marble "sunkin" tub and black cabinets. The private bath is decorated in red, white, and blue, with blue cabinets.

The full breakfast that is served has a touch of gourmet. Sometimes there is a little brandy or orange liqueur in the product. The freshly baked cinnamon rolls bring requests for the recipe or "can I take one with me." The muffins will have seasonal fruits in them or be a special bran recipe.

The recreation room has games for all ages (babes thru elders). There is a pool table, table tennis, shuffle board and a snack bar and the cupboard is full of table games for two or more players. Outdoor activities available are walking, horse shoe pitching, croquet, basketball, swing set and sand box. Many magazines are provided for browsing while you sit in front of the fireplace on a cool evening. Summer evenings may be spent on the patio or a screened porch depending on the Iowa weather conditions.

Pheasant and deer hunting are very good in this area. The Tanger outlet for designer clothing is located just five miles away. The Amana Colonies have many celebrations and festivals for tourists.

Other places of interests include State University of Iowa City; Hoover Memorial; Kalona (Amish); Brucemore, Cedar Rapids; and Iowa County Pioneer Heritage Museum, Marengo.
