Macadamia Meadows is a spacious country home located on an
eight-acre working macadamia nut farm estate in the historic
Kau District. Situated on the very southern end of the Big
Island, the bed and breakfast provides a great home base for
exploring the real Hawaii.
Whether you are traveling by yourself or with a group, there
is a variety of lodging accommodations available to you during
your stay. All rooms have private entrances. The Hawaiian
Room and Volcano Room two bedroom suite is ideal for
families or two couples traveling together. The Macadamia
Room, like the other rooms at the bed and breakfast,
has cable TV, refrigerator, queen-size bed, and bistro table
and chairs. The spacious Panalu`u Black Sand Beach
Room includes a queen-size teak canopy bed as well as
a queen-size sleeper sofa. The Papakale`o Green Sand
Beach Room is great for couples or just right with
pune`e (Hawaiian version of a day bed) for that third little
one.
In the morning, enjoy a sumptuous continental breakfast
before setting off for a fun-filled day on the island. You may
begin your day with the many resort-level amenities available
at the bed and breakfast such as rigorous round of tennis
followed by a refreshing dip in the in-ground pool. Basketball
hoops are also available. Play to your heart's content while
enjoying the sweeping ocean view. Or, slow the pace for a
pleasant stroll through the eight acres of macadamia orchard
until you reach the meadow. Guests may enjoy a complimentary,
educational orchard tour and learn the fine points of
Macadamia farming in Hawaii. Or with stays of three nights or
more you may arrange to pick Macadamias fresh from the orchard
at a reduced price. At night, a favorite spot for star gazing
is the bench on the tennis court. Without light pollution, the
night sky comes alive. |
South Point, the southern-most point in the United States,
and Papakolea, the only green sand beach on the island, are
just down the road. Fishing and whale watching are nearby as
well. Discover the black sand beach of Punalu'u, where you can
observe the native Green and Hawksbill sea turtles, just a
12-minute drive away. Within a 45-minute drive, you can enjoy
the majesty of Volcano National Park and the peacefulness of
the Place of Refuge. Those seeking a real Hawaii experience
need to look no further than Macadamia Meadows Farm Bed and
Breakfast for warm Hawaiian hospitality as well as a great
location. |
