Lily Creek Lodge,
constructed in the style of a European Chalet, is nestled in a
forested valley in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains,
only an hour's drive from downtown Atlanta.
A Three
Diamond-rated Bed and Breakfast by AAA, innkeepers Don and
Sharon Bacek offer country inn lodging at an eclectic mountain
retreat with nooks for romance and quiet as well as places to
play and relax.
An arched stone
fireplace in the Lodge's Art Nouveau gathering room offers a
welcoming haven to relax and enjoy a blazing fire while
sipping a cup of hot cocoa or cider. Guests are invited to
read, play games, or visit with other guests. There is also a
swimming pool with a rushing waterfall, an outdoor hot tub in
the pavillion, a swing in the woods, a bocce court, and a
treehouse.
Each of the uniquely
furnished accommodations depicts a geographical or period
theme. Fine antiques, collectibles, and artwork, coupled with
high-quality linens, down comforters, and feather pillows
yield an ambience of rustic elegance you are sure to enjoy.
Twelve guest rooms are available, each with its own private
bath. Five of the rooms are actually two-room suites, and
three of the suites have kitchen facilities for your
convenience and wireless Internet.
The Lily Creek Lodge
serves a gourmet continental breakfast on the outdoors deck,
in the hillside gazebo, or in the formal French dining room.
For something different, you may want to try "Breakfast
in the Trees" up in the tree house and view the
surrounding mountain range.
The Lily Creek Lodge
is a year-round retreat with each change of the seasons
providing its own special magic. In Spring, the delicate pinks
of wild honeysuckle and the brilliant orange blossoms of the
flame azalea accentuate the white flowering dogwood. In
Summer, the fruit is ripe, and lush greens and delightfully
cool evenings provide guests with a respite for life's cares.
Fall brings nature's palette to life when the leaves change
and the mountains are painted in spectacular reds, yellows,
and oranges. Winter opens new vistas as the hardwoods shed
their leaves. This is the ideal time to observe the native
wildlife and enjoy the breathtaking views. Regardless of when
you visit, the Baceks know your stay will be an enjoyable one;
they look forward to meeting you soon. |
The Lodge acreage is
a wildlife sanctuary and the home of many flora and fauna
found only in this mountain ecology.
Bring your
binoculars or borrow your hosts' to observe hummingbirds,
finches, hawks, and woodpeckers as well as a myriad of
butterflies. In the heart of North Georgia wine country, this
region is the Gateway to the scenic beauty of the Appalachian
Trail, and is crossed by the Chestatee and Etowah Rivers which
are ideal for whitewater rafting, kayaking, and canoeing.
Other activities

and golf.

Falls, the highest waterfall in eastern America, or drive to
one of the nearby state parks, or enjoy a winetasting or tour
at a local vineyard.
The Station, site of
the beginning of the Cherokee Nation's "Trail of Tears is
close to the Lodge." Your adventures away from the the
inn should include Dahlonega, the place of the nation's first
gold rush in the late 1820's and now recognized as a cultural
