Augusta, the
second-largest city in Georgia, is located on the south bank of
the Savannah River midway between the Great Smoky Mountains and
the Atlantic Ocean. No mention of Augusta can be complete without
its most famous event, the Masters PGA Golf Tournament. One of the
most beautiful courses in the country, the Masters happens when
the city is alive with spring blooms and the crowds are ready for
exciting golf and sunlit greens.
Augusta offers a wide
array of cultural and recreational activities. It has a
world-class riverwalk, the site of many activities including the
Augusta Invitation Regatta (a national collegiate rowing event)
and the Augusta Southern Nationals, dubbed the Worlds
Richest Drag Boat Race. |
