Aunt Martha's Bed and Breakfast with its
water-view accommodations is located in the sunny panhandle of
Florida in Fort Walton Beach, recently rated as one of the top
ten places to live in the US by Money Magazine.
The Bed and Breakfast offers nearly 10,000
square feet of living space. There is plenty of room to find a
quiet spot to read in the library as well as to mingle with a
lively gathering of guests on the spacious front porch. A baby
grand piano entertains guests who want live music, while a
state-of-the-art sound system with speakers throughout the
first floor can be programmed to accommodate a wide variety of
musical tastes.
From the foyer, step into the library
adorned with a spectacular brick fireplace. Adjoining is a
living room and sunroom. Large floor-to-ceiling windows
illuminate each room. French doors open onto the verandah that
runs down the length of the house and overlooks the water. A
separate dining room is spacious enough to comfortably seat
12. The room may be used for a business meeting or an intimate
meal where pocket doors can be closed to provide privacy.
A winding staircase takes you to the second
floor to five unique rooms, each tranquil and relaxing.
Beautifully decorated with a touch of Aunt Martha's southern
charm, each lodging accommodation is equipped with a private
bathroom, telephone, and cable television. Large windows can
be opened to enjoy the warm Gulf breezes and the sounds of the
shore. An ice machine is located on the second floor, and
laundry services are available as well.
Martha and her staff provide an
unforgettable breakfast each morning. The menu includes such
specialties as traditional southern egg, ham, and cheese
grits; stuffed French toast; baked stuffed apple pancakes;
broccoli and cheese quiche; and crawfish quiche. The central
location of the Inn makes it easy for you to sample many of
the fine restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner. Staff's
Restaurant, adjacent to Aunt Martha's, has been in Martha's
family for over 90 years and offers excellent seafood and
steak. |
From the moment you open the front door and
step into the spacious foyer, you are wrapped in the gracious
warmth of Martha and Bill, your hosts. The Bed and Breakfast
Inn is an exquisite example of old Florida summer-house charm
blended with all the comfort that modern-day architecture and
new construction provide, making it an intimate hotel
alternative.
Whether you are attending meetings at one
of the local conference centers and looking to unwind from the
day's activities or are here purely to enjoy the beach, there
are several nearby activities to remove you from the everyday.
World-class golf courses, international shopping, and Eglin
and Hurlburt Air Force bases are just a short drive away.
