Ingredients

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup butter

1 Tablespoon light corn syrup

1/2 cup pecans

12 slices French bread (thinly sliced)

4 apples, thinly sliced

1 cup egg-white product

1 cup skim milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled on top

Combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup in 8 x 8 glass pan (spray sides with Pam) and cook in microwave for 30 seconds. Stir. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans.

Place one layer think-sliced French bread on syrup and pecans. Fill in with bread as needed. Top with sliced apples, not overlapping. Place second layer of sliced French bread on top of apples, and another layer of apples.

Combine eggs, milk and vanilla, then pour over layers. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered for 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Each person is served one double layer serving. It can also be served with whipped cream.
