Westbrook is an
attractive, small shoreline community in Middlesex County on Long
Island Sound. The town is a popular recreation and tourist center,
offering a variety of restaurants, resorts, marinas and shopping.
Westbrook was the
birthplace of David Bushnell, the Revolutionary War Patriot who is
recognized by the United States Navy, as the inventor of the
submarine. In fact the U.S. Navy Submarine Force Museum is close
by in Groton.
