Nestled between the
glamour of Vail and Beaver Creek, Minturn is a small town with big
character. In addition to historic architecture and charming
homes, the oldest town in the Vail Valley boasts great
restaurants, unique galleries and several western antique stores.
Traditionally a mining and
railroad town, Minturn preserves its "Old West" feeling,
even with the addition of the new Minturn Town Center. One of the
most popular events in the community is the Minturn Farmer's
Market, which runs weekly during the summer.
Minturn is surrounded on
three sides by the Holy Cross Wilderness, a national forest, and
the mighty Eagle River runs all the way through town. Whatever the
season, activities abound. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross
country skiing are only some of the year round recreation
opportunities offered by the White River National Forest. Of
course the primary winter activity is the world class skiing at
Vail and Beaver Creek resorts. |
