The town of Fraser is located in Middle Park in the valley of the Fraser River along U.S. Highway 40. Just northwest of Winter Park, Fraser is convenient for ski enthusiast recreating at several popular ski resorts.

The valley is surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest and three Wilderness areas: Indian Peaks, Byers Peak and Vasquez.
