The town of Fraser is located in
Middle Park in the valley of the Fraser River along U.S. Highway
40. Just northwest of Winter Park, Fraser is convenient for ski
enthusiast recreating at several popular ski resorts.
The valley is surrounded by the
Arapaho National Forest and three Wilderness areas: Indian Peaks,
Byers Peak and Vasquez.
Area attractions include the Walk
Through History Park in Fraser, home to a collection of sculptures
by local artist J.M. Hoy depicting scenes from the history of
Grand County and Colorado, the Fraser Tubing Hill, a favorite of
locals and visitors alike, and the Fraser Experimental Forest,
which offers access to camping and several excellent hiking,
mountain biking and snowshoe trails, including the challenging
Byers Peak trail. |
