Rocky Mountain National
Park and Roosevelt National Forest surround the village of Estes
Park with spectacular mountain scenery, abundant wildlife habitat,
miles of hiking trails and scenic drives including Trail Ridge
Road over the Continental Divide and the Peak to Peak Scenic
Byway.
Trail Ridge Road, the
highest continuous highway in the United States, runs from Estes
Park westward through Rocky Mountain National Park, reaching Grand
Lake over the continental divide.
Area activities include
world class hiking and climbing, biking, fishing, golfing,
sightseeing, wildlife watching, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing
and ice skating.
Area attractions include
Estes Park Area Historical Museum, and MacGregor Ranch Museum. Of
course, while in Estes Park, you'll have to visit the Stanley
Hotel, made famous in the movie based on Stephen King's The
